Purpose and scope
A management directive RD 102-008-2002 "Directions for pipeline technical condition diagnostics by non-contact magnetometric method” is a technical-organizational normative document which regulates ferromagnetic pipelines technical condition assessment at the facilities controlled by Gosgortekhnadzor of Russia. Facilities under diagnostics are as follows: oil-field and main pipelines of the Fuel and Energy Complex and of other sectors of industry which operate pipeline systems under pressure; municipal system gas-, hot-water-, water- supply pipelines; industrial pipelines, product pipelines. The information collected by the non-contact magnetometric diagnostics is the basis for residual life assessment and Decision issuing founded on industrial safety examination results.
